What could be better than to watch the sun rise and set from the ramparts of your very own castle? Jersey Heritage is giving you the unique opportunity to stay at an apartment at Elizabeth Castle the 17th century castle named after Queen Elizabeth 1st. The castle is set on an islet 10 minutes walk along a causeway from West Park beach, near St Helier. A comfortable centrally heated apartment with large rooms has been created from part of a granite building set in the parade ground of the castle. The islet is surrounded by sea twice a day and arrangements have been made to provide complimentary transport to and from the islet from 9.30am (from mainland) to 5.00pm. Thereafter transport can be arranged by boat at an additional cost. During the day it is open to the public and the black powder cannon is still fired daily. The castle gardien is based on site, but after closing you will have the key to the main gate and the castle is yours to explore.
