Accompanied visits to
- The
Story of Jersey in the Jersey Museum
covers topics such as education, tourism, leisure, banking and agriculture
in the 19th century.
- The
Barreau Le Maistre Art Gallery in the Jersey
Museum includes many fine examples of locally collected Victorian
paintings by artists such as Millais, Le Capelain and Ouless.
- The
Merchants House in the Jersey
Museum was formerly the home of one of the leading shipowners
in Jersey and the top two floors have been restored to how they may
have looked in 1862. There are five bedrooms refecting the different
tastes of family members and the servant,and the interactive nursery/schoolroom.
- The
Maritime Museum on the New North Quay highlights different
aspects of Jerseys 19th century maritime heritage such
as shipbuilding, the Gaspé cod trade, world trade, steam ships and the
development of harbours.
Guided walks

- The Harbour
walk looks at the development of St Helier harbour over the
last two centuries.
- The various
Town walks look at examples of Victorian
architecture around the Parade, King Street, Royal Square, Colomberie,
Commercial Buildings and Havres des Pas.
