General Information for School Visits
Cost: All Channel Islands school groups have free admission to JHT sites. All Jersey students, over the age of 10, in full-time education should have a Flashcard (sponsored by David and Anne Crossland) which gives them free access to all JHT, Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery and Alderney Society museums.
Non-Channel Islands schools and colleges pay the student rate less 15% group booking discount.
Other interest groups pay the relevant rate less the 15% group booking discount.
Pupil:teacher ratio: The JHT recommend a ratio of 1:10 or less
Parking: With the exception of La Hougue Bie and Hamptonne, none of our sites have dedicated parking.
Behaviour: During a visit the class teacher and accompanying adults are responsible for the good behaviour of their group - museum staff are there to facilitate a learning experience.
Lunch: The only JHT site at the moment with suitable indoor space for lunches during wet weather is Elizabeth Castle.
The Jersey Heritage Trust Education Service uses ICT equipment provided through the generosity of NatWest Offshore.
