English Civil War
Elizabeth Castle - 26 and 27 August
26 to 27 AugustElizabeth Castle has been seized by the New Model Army. Cromwell’s men will be demonstrating the weapons and armour of the 17 th century, from the polearm to the cannon. In the days leading up to the event, they will be ‘billeted’ at Hamptonne, showing how soldiers and their families lived in England and the similarities with the Island.
